I believe that some time in the future all marketers will have to be responsible to business and society and once and for all shake the negative image that holds the profession back.

Today marketers are still very wasteful and don't know [or worse, don't bother to find out] what is working and not working with the budget they are given.

Which industry do I focus on?
I have experience of marketing in a broad range of industries including professional services, travel, consumer electronics, chemicals, education, but the sport world has stolen my heart more recently. The sports sector is being forced to become more professional and commerical and because of this there is more demand for commercial marketers with experience and best practices learned outside the sports world.
